Last night I opened the door. Letting in vulnerability, trust, hope and something else …I felt my heart cracked open. Just a little. Resistance is still holding tight to the comforting safety of the walls I have built up through time. But the door is open now.
This all happened in just a few minutes during a meditation with my intuitive life coach, doing energy healing with me. Today I feel a little like after an open heart surgery, though i’ve never had one. My heart is glowing, literally. On a physical level there are heat sensations, a warm flow of energy and emotionally I feel expanded.
“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”
This experience got me thinking about the heart-mind connection. When was the last time I had actually connected and spoken to my heart? What are the benefits of keeping the heart open to experience all these emotions, even the hurtful ones. Can we open and close the heart by intention, choosing when it needs protection and when we need to stay open to not miss out on great opportunities or life-changing connections with others?
I invite you to explore the depth and capacity of your heart with the following meditations and I challenge you …
… Keep your heart open a little longer next time you meet someone.
… Keep engaging, even if you have already shared a lot, go a little deeper.
… Keep listening, even if you have already heard a lot.
… Stay just a little longer outside in the ordinary world before running back into the safeties of your inner wonderland.
